This magnificent group of musicians not only give us wonderful performances but also provide invaluable musical education in schools

We are committed to education work, especially in underserved areas. Since 2023, in partnership with Bolton Music Service and primary schools in Bolton and Tameside, we have completed several series of schools workshops. Some of these were loosely based on the popular TV programme, Strictly Come Dancing. Others explored how we can use music to improve our Mental Health.
In 2026, we continued our education work by bringing our Mental Health workshop to six primary schools. A total of 350 children experienced the workshop, and contributed through art, poetry, prose and dance.

The workshop has given the children lots of strategies to support their mental health. It has helped us all realise how important music is for us and how we can use it to support us in everyday life.

An amazing experience for our children (and staff!) to get the opportunity to listen to live musicians. The theme is appropriate and thought provoking. The collaboration which occurs during the workshop between the pupils and the ensemble is moving and works brilliantly.

Year 5/6 enjoyed a fantastic workshop from @lindowensemble this week focusing on how music can support their mental health. We had some children dancing alongside the music, children who performed some poetry and others who had created some art on how to support mental health. Thank you for coming in to deliver this to the children we thoroughly enjoyed it.
